SAP S/4HANA Cloud, Public Edition as the key to digital transformation

Situation

Torsus Slovakia, s. r. o. (formerly Pulsar Expo s.r.o. – organizational unit), a world leader in the production and delivery of vehicles, special purpose equipment for global government and private organizations, needed to implement a reliable cloud information ERP system for the needs of managing business, construction, and economic processes. They fulfill sales orders in small series.

The goal of the project was to ensure the running of everyday business processes using the secure, reliable, and scalable cloud platform, accessible from anywhere.

The challenges we faced

• Define, prepare and present to the customer Scope Items for End-to-End processes.
• Respond flexibly to changes in the ambitious project implementation schedule caused by the change of architecture from 2-level to 3-level directly during the ongoing implementation.
• The SolidWorks construction system contains the source information of the design, bill of materials, working construction procedures. Therefore, the know-how of the company was extremely important, and it was essential to integrate the PDM server, on which the SolidWorks design system is located, with the cloud environment SAP S/4H Cloud, Public Edition.

Solution

• SAP S/4HANA Cloud, Public Edition provides support for effective management of finance, logistics, quality, purchasing, production, construction process and sales.
• The production system used by the customer is make to order – a completion/assembly process tied to a sales order.

Project highlight

• When the customer team, with the help of consultants, migrated part of the data, modified the standard test scenarios, and performed the tests. That's when the entire horizon of how their business processes can be "embedded" in the Best Practices processes offered by SAP opened up for them.

Outcome

• All processes in one integrated CAD-ERP-BI environment.
• Efficient processing of statements and online preview of financial reports.
